Present — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
Thank you for using Present. Here is the whole story, in plain language.
The short version
We don’t collect any of your data. The rosters, members, attendance records and photos you create in Present live on your own device and in your own iCloud account. The developer cannot see them and cannot access them.
What we collect
No personal information at all. Specifically:
- Present has no accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, no phone number, no email address.
- Present has no server of its own. Your data is never uploaded to us.
- Present contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We do not collect device identifiers, location, contacts, or usage behaviour.
Where your data lives
Everything you create in the app — roster names, member names and notes, member photos, seating charts, the attendance record for every session, and how many times each person has been picked — is stored in two places:
- Locally on your device, and
- Your own private iCloud database (if you are signed in to iCloud).
The iCloud private database is provided and encrypted by Apple, and only devices signed in to your Apple Account can read it. Neither the developer, nor other users, nor any third party can access its contents. The only purpose of this sync is to keep your own iPhone, iPad and other devices consistent with each other.
For how Apple handles iCloud data, see Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
About member photos
You can give a roster member a photo. Photos are chosen from your library through the system photo picker — the app never receives permission to read your entire photo library. The chosen image is compressed and stored alongside your other data, locally and in your own private iCloud database. Photos are never uploaded to any developer server.
Content you choose to share
When you use “Share summary card” or “Export CSV”, you decide who receives the result (a message, an email, a file). That step is entirely under your control — Present never sends data to anyone on its own. Note that shared content may include member names and attendance status, so please make sure the recipient is appropriate before sending.
Children’s privacy
Present is made for teachers and organisers, and does not collect any information from children. Member names entered in the app are typed by the person using it and stored in that person’s own iCloud. We have no way to obtain them.
How to delete your data
- Deleting a roster inside the app deletes that roster and all of its history.
- After uninstalling Present, you can remove its iCloud data on your iPhone or iPad under Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Because we never hold your data, there is no deletion request to send us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
